next injection and the answer is NO.... In 1972 ,San Diego Ca, Naval Training Center
they made us run a gauntlet of injector guns, Nobody wipes
the guns off at all. Yes, I was injected with the jet gun and no,
it was not clean/wiped off, ever. I entered basic training
in the Air Force on Aug 30, 1973 at Lackland AFB in San
Antonio, Texas. Was in boot camp (1971) Navy. I don't ever
remember seeing a corpsman cleaning an injector gun during
inoculations. I am currently taking treatment for hepatitis
C, 24th week of 48. No, the technicians were all in a hurry,
lines of GIs, much blood transferred. Never once did they
even stop, ..... I was in the military, USAF 1960 till 1964.
Got some shots in Basic with the jet gun. ..... No, they did
not wipe off the airgun before or after the shots. I was
diagnosed with HCV in spring of 2000. I had Jet Injector Guns used on me at Ft
Sill, starting July 1968. I was in lines of GI and blood
everywhere.. Guns were never cleaned before another use..
The medics had blood all over hands and their body from
blood splattering. I was one of the medics who administered shot's in this fashion (not wiping off the guns) and received shot's in this fashion from 1976 until 1983. Walt No, air guns where not. I remember wiping
blood off my arm. we were moved through lines like cattle
same is true for haircuts, and first dental exam in boot
camps. I am not a vet, however, I recall getting
immunizations by airgun in school. The guns were not wiped
off between students. I remember seeing blood on other
students and nothing was used to clean the gun off
afterwards. There are several people who went to my
elementary school and have HCV. It is now recorded in the world that the jet guns were not wiped off after each use!
